LAPP was looking for an external user interface for creating tickets.
In order to ensure process optimization, Lapp wanted to process transactions in the SAP Solution Manager (ITSM/ChaRM), but use external tools as an input channel.

  • The solution

After some discussions with our team, it became clear that the Cross Connector Jira/SAP Solution Manager interface could be of great help. Since the Cross Connector Jira/SAP Solution Manager had already been implemented at LAPP in a previous project, there were no additional costs for interface development on the SAP side.

An input mask for entering user requests should be provided in the IDM. A service request should be created automatically based on a template. The flexible interface of the Cross ALM Jira/SAP Solution Manager Connector was used for this. The interface was not actually intended for this, but could be used very elegantly to implement a flexible API with field and value mapping as well as pre-assignments.
